This was because of her dedication to her students in preparing them for  [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;"><span>Earlier this month Annabel Murcott flew the flag for her local club <a href="https://www.annabelmurcott.com/">Annabel Murcott Schools of Tae Kwon Do</a> and the <a href="https://www.tagb.biz/index.php" target="_blank">Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain</a> at the </span><span>Pride in Peterborough Awards.<br /><br />As a club we are very proud of our instructor, Annabel gives everything to her students and Tae Kwon Do.<br />Her dedication is </span>immeasurable, <span>she wasn't keen on attending the awards for fear of her students missing out on training sessions! This was because of her dedication to her students in preparing them for an up and coming grading that took place last weekend.</span><br /></div>  <div><div style="height:20px;overflow:hidden"></div> <div id='323502843364333605-slideshow'></div> <div style="height:20px;overflow:hidden"></div></div>  <div class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Annabel attended the Awards Ceremony and evening dinner on Tuesday 7th December 2021<span>. Of the 13 categories <a href="https://www.annabelmurcott.com/about-us.html">Annabel</a> was 'Highly Commended' in 4 categories:<br /><br /><strong>Pride of Peterborough Awards</strong></span><ul><li><span>Best Virtual Class/Online Activity Award - Highly Commended</span></li><li><span>Star Teacher/Chilcarer Award - Highly Commended</span></li><li><span>Community Hero Award - Highly Commended</span><br /></li><li><span>Sporting Hero Award - Highly Commended</span><br /></li></ul><span><br /></span>Aside Annbel's dedication, we genuinely can&rsquo;t thank our instructors, students and parent enough for your support throughout this past year, we are amazed sometimes by the offers of help and encouragement and it really means a lot to us. We will never stop reminding you all that our success, is purely down to the support from students, parents and the best team of dedicated Black Belts we could ask for.<br /><br />It was just the boost we needed to get back to the competition circuit to end the year, the <a href="https://standoutmagazine.co.uk/arnold-sports-festival-set-for-uk-debut-at-the-nec/" target="_blank">Arnold Schwarzenegger</a> event at the <a href="https://thenec.co.uk/" target="_blank">NEC</a> put the TAGB back on the map and highlighted what an outstanding dedicated organisation they are. Her fellow instructors have vowed to cover all classes so she can attend!<br /></div>  <h2 class="wsite-content-title">Our Hero<br /></h2>  <div class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">Headed by Annabel Murcott and Dale Pollard, Annabel Murcott Schools of Tae Kwon Do have been running martial arts classes for nearly 30 years.<br /><br />Being a grand master and world champion 7th Degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, allows Annabel (and her fellow instructors) to educate over 400 students. Keeping them focused, fit and motivated daily through zoom sessions, personal fitness plans and one-to-one sessions.<br /><br /><span></span>During lockdown Annabel tried her very best to keep spirit high, showing perseverance and true indomitable spirit. The winning initiative has been recognised for uplifting the spirits of those around them and putting a smile on the faces of those in need.<br /></li><li><strong>Essential/ Key Worker Of The Year </strong>&ndash; This category is for the key or essential workers outside of the Health and Care sectors. Among others, it might be a shop worker, delivery driver, or postal worker. Tell us about their tremendous service and compassion in lockdown.</li><li><strong>Child Hero </strong>&ndash; Tell us about a child&rsquo;s actions that have made you proud and given you real hope for the future of our community.</li><li><strong>Caring Neighbour Award </strong>&ndash; Lockdown life has changed our community in ways we could hardly have thought about since March and we have faced many challenges along the way but there has been a flipside to this. Have we been brought closer to our neighbours during the Pandemic? Has your neighbourhood been transformed during lockdown in some way or has one of your neighbours gone above and beyond?</li><li><strong>Community Hero Award </strong>&ndash; The corona virus lockdown has seen a surge in charitable work, community groups and people simply looking out for each other, whether friends, family, neighbours, or strangers. Thousands of people in Peterborough have played a significant role in supporting their local communities and beyond.
